The paid version of the instant messaging app Telegram i.e. subscription-based service will be launched in India this month. Telegram founder Pavel Durov himself has given this information. Telegram Premium users will get a discount on the chat limit. Apart from this, the facility of uploading large media files will be available. In a blog post, Powell said, "A paid service is needed to provide more convenience to our most demanding users while keeping our existing features free."
Telegram has a direct competition with Signal and WhatsApp. At present, the number of monthly active users of Telegram is around 500 million. Telegram is one of the top 10 most downloaded apps in the whole world. The company's founder has also clarified that the launch of a paid service does not mean that ads will be shown to free users.
Telegram will be free forever to Telegram users. No ads. The tagline No Fees is also visible. The company expects revenue from the paid service. The unlimited cloud storage facility will be available with Telegram's paid service. The free tagline has also been removed with the new version. New and 3D stickers will also be available with the paid service.
